Sherwood Estates is an extremely good part of Thunder Bay for moving around by car. Many homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, and it is very convenient to come across a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit service in this neighbourhood is not very frequent. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. Many of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very conducive to pedestrians as meeting daily needs is inconvenient without a vehicle. Cycling is also challenging in Sherwood Estates since there are very few bike lanes, and the topography is not especially flat.
