Halifax
Oceanview, located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, offers a peaceful and quiet environment for families. With easy access to primary schools and daycares within walking distance, it is a great place for young children. The neighbourhood's slower-paced atmosphere and nearby parks make it an ideal location for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy outdoor activities. Most properties are just a short drive away from the highway, making transportation convenient for those who drive. Additionally, a nearby supermarket provides easy access to groceries, making daily errands hassle-free. With a mix of housing options, including large apartment buildings, single detached homes, and townhouses, Oceanview offers diverse living choices for residents.
The car is very often the preferred method to navigate this part of Halifax. Parking is generally easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in this neighbourhood. In contrast, this part of the municipality is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. Oceanview is not especially bike-friendly as cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of slopes, and the cycling network is not very well-developed. Walking is also not particularly practical for property owners in Oceanview since most daily needs are at times difficult to meet without a vehicle.
Primary schools and daycares are especially easy to get to as a pedestrian from anywhere in Oceanview. On the other hand, parents and their kids may find it difficult to reach high schools by foot. When it comes to food, it is convenient to reach the closest supermarket without a car in Oceanview. In addition, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of choices, and residents are served by a few cafes as well.
Oceanview is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. There are approximately 20 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Larry Uteck Boulevard Community Park and Ecole Secondaire Du Sommet Park, and they are especially well-spread out, which makes it easy to get to them.
