The favoured way to navigate North Shore Mountains is usually a car. It is very convenient to access a place to park, and it is a very short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in this community. In contrast, public transit riders may find very limited options in North Shore Mountains by reason of the low service level. Nevertheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. It is very impractical for people walking to move around in this community as running daily errands is practically impossible without a car. Cycling is also very difficult in North Shore Mountains because the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and bike riders are faced with a significant amount of elevation changes.
It is very rarely feasible for house buyers in this community to travel to the closest grocery store without a car. With regards to education, this part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area does not have any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, it can be very difficult to reach daycares by foot.
North Shore Mountains offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy. The majority of locations in the community have fairly good access to green spaces, such as Young And Don Lakes Recreation Site and Thwaytes Landing Regional Park, since there are about 20 of them close by for residents to visit, including Pitt-Addington Marsh Wildlife Management Area and Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. This community can be rather noisy, as during busy hours, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.
