Douglas is an extraordinarily good part of Fredericton for travelling by car. Coming across a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, the transit access in Douglas is rather poor. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. It is easy to travel by bike in this area. Walking is not very practical for home buyers in Douglas because running common errands is difficult without a car.

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed in this area to access the closest grocery store. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of Fredericton. Additionally, daycares are not particularly abundant and thus may require an extended trip to get to.
